Jan Huygen van Linschoten was an explorer in the 17th century. Line 4: the word 'duigen' means literally 'curved pieces of wood' (wich together form the barrel). The expression 'in duigen vallen' (fall into 'duigen') is still used as a plan falls into pieces ('het plan valt in duigen').
